Our principal activity is the sale of used books and other items that have been donated to us by members of the community. The funds we raise go to the library and are used to purchase new materials for the collections and to sponsor a variety of library programs, activities and events.
We sell donated books three ways:
The Friends Bookstore

Located to your left as you enter the library lobby, the Friends Bookstore is open during regular library hours. We carry a great selection of gently used nonfiction, fiction, children’s books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, magazines, and more. Prices start at just 50 cents! If you are a member of the Friends, you are entitled to a 50% discount on most items in the Bookstore.
Semiannual Used Book Sale
Each spring and fall, the Friends hold a giant two-day book sale in the library’s large conference room. Come on Saturday for the best selection at great prices—paperbacks are only 50 cents, and hardbacks are $1. All children’s books are 25 cents. Come on Sunday for an even better bargain. Friends members get early entry to the sale on Saturday, before it opens to the general public.
What’s new? Beginning on Sunday, 19 April 2026, the $4 price per bag will apply to a typical paper grocery bag. A larger, completely full bag will be priced accordingly compared to the new bag-size standard.
For example, a large blue IKEA reusable bag, filled to the top, is 3x the size/volume of the standard and will be priced at $12.
Our next Book Sale is scheduled for April 18 and 19, 2026
